Denmark : PhD in Micro- and Nanofluidics for DNA Applications


We are seeking to fill one PhD position in the optofluidics group at DTU-Nanotech, Technical University of Denmark (DTU).

The basic aim is to develop a micro- and nanofludidic platform for single cell genomics. In this project we will focus on micro and nanofluidic devices that can be fabricated by injection moulding and can perform single cell and single molecule DNA analysis.

Please be aware that the employment of a candidate in this position will be dependent on granting of sufficient financing.

The PhD will be associated with the Optofluidics group at the Department of Micro and Nanotechnology (www.nanotech.dtu.dk/optofluidics) and will engage in an EU collaborative project involving several partners from industry and academia. The PhD project involves the fabrication of devices and the experimental work with relevant samples.

QualificationsA strong background (MSc. or comparable qualification) in technical physics, or materials science is a prerequisite for the employment. A particular interest in experimental work, and previous experience with micro and nanofluidics represents an advantage.

Salary and appoint­­ment terms The salary and appoint­­ment terms are consistent with the current rules for PhD students at DTU. The period of employment is 3 years.
