Doctoral Research Position in Max Planck Institute for Foreign and International Criminal Law

Application requirements: completion of a law degree at a German university or completion at an equivalent university abroad; First or Second German State Law Exam with a minimum overall grade of "vollbefriedigend" (according to the examination regulations "JAPrO" of the State of Baden-Württemberg), or an equivalent degree with an equivalent grade ("with distinction") from abroad

alternatively: completion of a regular university studies in social sciences with an overall duration of at least 4 years at a German or equivalent university from abroad; Master degree in sociology as major subject, or equivalent degree from Germany or abroad

submission of a substantive proposal for a dissertation topic linked to the research agenda of the IMPRS-REMEP

solid proficiency in the English language; in addition, students should have at least some basic knowledge of the German language and demonstrate willingness to improve it.

The IMPRS-REMEP seeks to reach a composition of at least 50 percent foreign doctoral students. Thus, foreign candidates with a foreign degree are explicitly encouraged to apply. Recognition of equivalence of foreign degrees is to be determined by the doctoral committee of the Faculty of Law or by the examination committee of the Joint Commission of the Faculties of Humanities and Philology of the University of Freiburg, in accordance with the criteria laid out by the Central Office for Foreign Education at the Secretariat of the Standing Conference of the Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs ("Zentralstelle für ausländisches Bildungswesen im Sekretariat der Ständigen Konferenz der Kultusminister der Länder").

PhD Studentship in Nematology at Ghent University, 2012 Belgium


Eligibility: Master’s degree or a licentiate (or equivalent) in Biology, Nematology, Biotechnology, bioinformatics or bio-engeneer or equivalent. Candidates who will obtain a Master’s degree at the end of the present academic year may apply.

Scholarship Description: We are looking for a full-time PhD student to conduct research in nematology, which should lead to a Ph.D. degree in Science. The successful candidate will receive a scholarship from Ghent University for a period of 48 months with starting date October 1 or 31 (depending on the candidate), 2012. The general research theme includes taxonomy and evolution of plant-parasitic nematodes. The candidate will work in a dynamic international research environment.

2013 University of Waikato Academic Merit School Leaver Scholarship, New Zealand



Eligibility:
-Be a citizen or permanent resident of New Zealand.
-Have achieved University Entrance .
-Have achieved the NCEA Level 3 Certificate with a Merit endorsement, or equivalent 3 , through a New Zealand school .
-Apply to enrol at the University of Waikato by the application deadline for new students.
-Apply to study as a full-time student (in a minimum of 120 points, usually eight papers) in an undergraduate degree .
-Be enrolling at the University for the first time 4 in 2013, and commencing study in the first semester of 2013.
