Eligibility:
The potential candidate must have a master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a corresponding degree. Basic knowledge in networking is required and a specialization in radio communications and/or multimedia communication and/or computer vision is an asset. Applications can be considered if the expected date of obtaining the MSc degree is no later than 30 September 2012.

Scholarship Description: As a PhD student in this emerging area, your task will be to develop communication protocols for the efficient delivery of visual information in energy constrained environments. The focus will be on efficient communication protocols tailor made for visual information delivery in a distributed environment. The project involves both theoretical and experimental work, requires cooperation with other scientific disciplines, and will be carried out in collaboration with research groups at other universities.
