PhD opportunity in Social Innovation and-or Social Entrepreneurship


A unique opportunity has arisen within The University of SheffieldManagement School to pursue a PhD in the area of Social Innovation and/or Social Entrepreneurship. The School offers Graduate Teaching Assistantships (GTA) so that the PhD will be combined with the opportunity to gain valuable teaching experience. For successful applicants the School will meet tuition fees and in addition offer a tax-free maintenance stipend of £13,590 per year for 3 years. We are looking for a motivated individual who wants to pursue a PhD in the broad arena of social innovation and social entrepreneurship. Although, related topics will be considered. Award details
The GTAs will be offered on a competitive basis and are available to Home and EU as well as International students. Each Graduate Teaching Assistant will undertake broadly 6 hours work per week. This will include teaching, delivering tutorials, marking and, where appropriate, lecturing.
  • The School will meet the full cost of Home/EU tuition fees
  • Successful candidates will receive an annual, tax-free maintenance stipend of £13,590. The stipend will be paid pro-rata for part-time students
  • These scholarships fund up to three years full time (six years part time) study, subject to satisfactory progress
Eligibility
  • You should have, or expect to achieve, a first or upper second classUK honours degree or equivalent
  • You should be applying to start your first year of study on a full-time or part-time PhD with the University in the 2012-13 academic year
  • Awards are open to UK, EU and International applicants.
