Research Assistant / Research Associate in Software Reliability

Research Assistant salary:  £27,400 to £30,450 per annum
Research Associate salary: £31,300 to £33,920 per annum
Fixed Term appointment for up to 36 months
Preferred starting date is mid January 2012 (this is flexible)
The Department of Computing is a leading department of Computer Science among UK Universities. It has consistently been awarded the highest research rating (5*) in Research Assessment Exercises (RAE), coming 2nd in the last 2008 RAE, and was rated as "Excellent" in the previous national assessment of teaching quality.
Applications are invited for a Research Assistant (pre-doctoral but must be close to completing a PhD) or a Research Associate (postdoctoral) position in the Software Reliability Group under the direction of Dr. Cristian Cadar. The goal of this project is to develop techniques for automatically testing, verifying and generating software patches using symbolic execution. 
To apply for this position, you will need to have a strong background in software engineering, computer systems and/or program analysis. You will also have experience in building and working with large software systems and tools. 
Applicants will have (or shortly expect to receive) a PhD degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science or a related field, and will be expected to have a proven track record with strong publications in relevant areas.  
You must have excellent communication skills and be able to organise your own work with minimal supervision and prioritise work to meet deadlines. 
This position will be based at the South Kensington campus in central London.
