Nowadays, modern medical imaging such as CT, MRI, or 3D ultrasound plays a key role for medical diagnosis, operation planning, and intervention. Computer assisted methods help the physician in analysing, visualising and interpreting big datasets.
The proposed PhD topics address challenges in the field of computer-aided detection and statistical modelling of organs and anatomical structures of the human body. The research goal is to develop new automatic methods to assist doctors in diagnosis, intervention and operation planning.
The programme:
Successful candidates become full time PhD students at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) and will receive a 4-year scholarship. The PhD project will be conducted at Fraunhofer IDM@NTU Singapore. The third year of the programme will be spent at the partner university in TU Darmstadt (Germany) or TU Graz (Austria) in the co-supervisors lab.
We offer an ideal and international environment for personal academical development as well as attractive job opportunities upon graduation both in Singapore and Germany.
